In this contest I thought the winning mixes were appropriately chosen by the popular vote, although I slightly disagreed with the order…

#1 Guillaume Bonaventure

I really had no issues with this mix at all.  It was just great in every way to my ear!  It was very hard to decide between Guillaume and Zsummerill but I found Guillaume’s chorus just hit better.   There was really great flow to this mix and all the  sections just felt right to me.  I can’t think of anything else to say, it was just a job well done!

SUPER warm mix!  Had a great vibe!  I think the warmth really suited the song and this mix managed to pull it off without sounding muddy.  My biggest issue is when the chorus hit it felt like something dropped out energy wise.  In Guillaume’s mix the chorus exploded with energy but in this mix the energy either stayed the same or even came down a bit.  That was really the deciding factor for me in choosing 1st and 2nd.  I’d say this mix was as good as Guillaume’s in most ways, but just didn’t flow quite as well.  But wow, great mix nonetheless!

Another great job.  Compared to my top two choices this mix sounded a bit muddier in the lows.  There was something just a bit boomy to my ear.  This was my only issue, and it wasn’t a big one!  This mix had great energy, ambience and balance.  I’m not surprised it got 5 first place votes.  If the low end was a bit tighter this would have easily rivalled my top two choices.  Awesome mix!
