Many amazing mixes in the finals!!!  Wow!

# 1 Guillaume Bonaventure

The score says it all.  Guillaume’s mix had the power, width, balance and punch of a modern pop punk mix to my ear.  Super open sounding mix!  Personally, I think it would have been even better if it wasn’t hit quite as hard.  I felt like I could hear the compression/limiting just a bit too much.  I also think it was perhaps a bit brighter than it needed to be, and could maybe have benefited from a bit more warmth from the low mids – but this is just personal taste.  This was a phenomenal mix that deserves it’s spot on top!

#2 AI Mixing Bot

Best username ever?  So this was another excellent mix!  I think with one or two small adjustments this mix would have got my top vote.  At first I thought the lead vocal was maybe a bit too low, but soon I realized I was just hearing too much kick and snare (especially during the verses).  Simply put the kick/snare distracted me a bit from the vocal, although  I absolutely loved the sound of the kick and snare 🙂  From a tonal balance perspective I think this was my favourite mix in the contest.  Great work!

#3 osaikonen

Picking a third place was super hard for me.  I was between michaeltn86 and osaikonen.  In the end, I found osaikonen had the best tonal balance of the two mixes, and some nice automation energy to accent the transitions.  I also thought the lead vocal was really nicely done.  Nice job!
