MAIN CONTEST
Our June 2021 Main Contest song is a serious banger!….and what’s more it has an interesting back story that should inspire all of you to push forward with your musical endeavours. “Stop Right Now” was produced by Michael Leto, who is fast becoming a legend here at TOURNA-MIX. The artist, Codie West, randomly discovered Leto’s work online after hearing a song by Hannah Mundine (who was also produced my Michael – remember T-M song “Best of Me?”). Based on this listen, Codie then remotely hired Michael to produce his song! The two still have never met. Codie recorded his own vocals, using a bluebird mic and Scarlett interface, and shipped them overseas to Michael, who then built the track around them. How cool is that?
You just never know what can happen when you put yourself out there – Codie has a huge Insta following, not to mention charisma and star power. Let’s all hope Michael’s already amazing audio career continues to blossom! Moral of the story? Keep at it, and know that whatever success you’re after could be one small connection away from happening. Ok, get to it folks!!!
NOTE: This song has a lot of “baked in” processing, so don’t be surprised if it sounds great right out of the gates! It was such an enormous session, that Michael had no choice but to commit to a lot of vocal processing during the production phase, in order to free up much needed computer processing power…..but rest assured, there is still lots of good stuff to dig into 🙂
