The public vote says it all…SO HARD to decide!   This is maybe the closest our finals have ever been.  It was a real honour to listen to all your mixes.  FANTASTIC WORK. 

#1 ossaikonen

This mix absolutely sparkled.  Everything felt perfect to me.  I simply couldn’t find anything problematic from start to finish, and more importantly there was so much that I liked.  This was a WOW mix for me!

Another great mix from resident mix ninja RJR.  A very present modern sound.  Personally, compared to ossaikonen’s mix this mix felt a bit thin for my tastes…didn’t feel quite as emotionally compelling somehow.  However, in basically all other ways it was a top shelf job. Great mix!

This was the hard one…In the end I went with JTC.  I like how intimate and chill this mix was.  It really suited the song IMO.  Also, there was a nice lift into the chorus.  I think overall the tonality was maybe a bit boomy/boxy, but nevertheless this was a great mix.

MIX CONTEST # 2

Hey folks!  About 4 months ago, my best mate (Andrew Johnston) and I started a serious co-writing partnership with the hopes of landing some original songs in the hands of some big name country stars!  Ya, it’s a dream with no guarantees of success, but we are having fun nonetheless!  “Can’t be seen” is our first song demo and we are quite pleased with how it turned out.  Other than the vocal and acoustic guitar, every other aspect of this production was done with either virtual instruments, or samples – even the gospel choir!  We simply don’t have the budget to pay a top tier country band to record our demos, so we’re doing what we can with the tools available!  Our only true expense for this song was to hire a real country singer.  So, have fun with this song and I look forward to hearing your efforts!
